What is Human Design?

Human Design is a system that combines ancient wisdom traditions with modern science to provide a map of your genetic design. It integrates principles from the I Ching, Kabbalah, Chakra system, Astrology, and Quantum Physics to create a comprehensive blueprint of your energetic makeup.

Created by Ra Uru Hu in 1987, Human Design offers practical tools for self-discovery and decision-making aligned with your true nature. It helps you understand your unique genetic code and how to navigate life in alignment with your authentic self.

The Key Components

Type

Your Type is the foundation of your Human Design. It represents your life strategy and the way you're designed to interact with the world. There are five Types:

  • Generator/Manifesting Generator: Here to respond and satisfy
  • Projector: Here to guide and direct energy
  • Manifestor: Here to initiate and act
  • Reflector: Here to reflect and evaluate

Authority

Your Authority is your internal guidance system for making decisions. It's the way your body communicates its wisdom to you. Types of Authority include:

  • Emotional: Clarity comes through the emotional wave
  • Sacral: Gut response through sounds or feelings
  • Splenic: Immediate intuition in the moment
  • Self-Projected: Speaking aloud to hear the truth
  • Ego/Heart: Willpower and promises
  • Lunar Cycle: 28-day lunar cycle for clarity (Reflectors)

Centers

The nine Centers in your Human Design chart represent different energy centers in your body. Each center is either defined (colored in) or undefined (white), indicating consistent or inconsistent energy in that area of your life.

Channels

Channels are the connections between centers, representing consistent themes and energies in your life. They're formed by two connected gates.

Gates

Gates are specific energies or archetypes within each center. There are 64 gates in Human Design, corresponding to the 64 hexagrams of the I Ching.

Profile

Your Profile represents your life theme and purpose. It consists of two numbers that describe your conscious and unconscious personalities.

Your Human Design Chart

Your Human Design chart, or Bodygraph, is calculated using your birth date, time, and location. These details are used to determine the positions of planets at the time of your birth, which activate specific gates in your chart.
